The Douglas School renovation and expansion project transformed the historic 1927 school building into a new administrative and community resource center for Winchester Public Schools. The work included renovation of the existing structure, demolition of non-historic additions, and construction of a new operations and administrative facility, all while preserving the character of a building listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and National Register of Historic Places.

Summit Construction provided cold-formed metal framing, rough carpentry, thermal insulation, doors, frames and hardware, access doors, gypsum drywall, exterior gypsum sheathing, acoustical ceilings, and special ceiling systems throughout the project. The work supported both the restoration of the original building and the construction of new spaces, helping deliver a modern facility while maintaining the historic integrity of this important community landmark.
