The renovation of the National Archives Building’s Archives 1 Museum and Learning Center in Washington, DC, brought new life to the Discovery Center, transforming it into an interactive and educational space where visitors can engage with American history in dynamic ways. The newly enhanced Archives Arcade invites guests to step into the past through engaging games that encourage the exercise of First Amendment rights, explore the importance of Constitutional checks and balances, and promote civic engagement—all through the lens of the National Archives’ invaluable records.
Summit Construction’s scope of work included cold-formed metal framing, rough and finish carpentry, installation of doors, frames, and hardware, lath and plaster, gypsum drywall, acoustical and specialty ceiling systems, as well as wall and corner guard installation. We are honored to have contributed to a project that both preserves our nation’s heritage and fosters an appreciation for the democratic process.
